one more

You can see the view of Tooele out the bay window in our bedroom and the clerestory windows in our great room. (And the rest of the windows in the back, but those are the ones I have). Notice the Great Salt Lake and Antelope Island right in the middle of the big great room window.

Ta-daaa! Walls!

Amazing, but a week later we have the main floor finished and everything is being boarded in. They have put stairs in both up and down, and framed in the garages. They have the truss package there and our builder said it will be put up on Wednesday. So, by Friday we will be able to see the roofline. I am not sure that you are enjoying the pictures as much as we are, but thank you for sharing it with us!

More pics

Ok, Here are the recent pics of the house!

Sorry it took me so long. Jeff and Jamie took these a week ago, (thanks guys!) and we are really excited at the progress! Some of them are hard to understand, but basically you are looking at the fully framed basement and the half-framed main floor. In the first picture you can see Jamie and Sadie on the driveway by the two garages. Off of the garages you go into the mudroom where there is a half-bath and laundry room. This opens up into the kitchen. The next pictures show the front porch(with all of the rebar) which is in front of Chris' den. Our master suite is behind it. I won't even try to explain the basement, it is even hard for me to make out with all of the crossbeams holding things up. We are excited to see the work from this week and hope that the top floor has been added. Enjoy looking with us!

The Mississipp, the ol' miss, the ol' man (and other rivers!!)

Hey everyone, happy Monday! I hope everyone had a happy Easter. I was obviously so overtaken by Easter that this morning at the gym I signed Brooklyn and Emmy into the tot care and wrote 'Easter' instead of Emmy. oops. Here are some pictures of the amazing flood we had here. I have never seen anything like it before. The picture of the statue in the water was taken downtown at Laclede's Landing by the Mississippi River. That statue is 21 feet tall just to give you an idea. Also, notice the pictures of the driving range with water covering a portion of the road. Then look at the same pictures a day later. The road is completely underwater, including the office building for the driving range. I do have new pictures of our house but I have to save them to my computer first and then I will post them.

Top O' the Marnin' to ya! Happy St. Patrick's day from St. Louis! Today is the 2nd St. Pat's parade down in Dogtown, the Irish sector. We were all pumped up to go, Emmy and I, but it is cold and rainy and I am a wimp. I will be wearing green, however, and my goal of the day will be to eat some corned beef, YUM!!!! As it turns out, we did not go to the other parade on Saturday, because Brooklyn woke up at 5:30 and threw up. We did go to High School Musical on ice, though, later in the afternoon, and it was really fun. We did not have a camera, so just use your imagination. . . The house is moving along at a good pace. Tom sent us two pictures over the weekend of the framing in the basement. The outside walls of the basement are up and today they will pour the suspended slab on one of our garage floors that will be above the theatre room below it. We don't want a car caving in on us when we are watching movies! Have a LUCKY day! BLARNEY! (I don't know why, I just wanted to say that. It's a funny word.)

Today I have come to the sad realization that my almost three-year-old has worn out the welcome mat on napping. What a bummer. . . However, work on our house is progressing and that brightens my day. On Sat. our builder sent us pics of the back-filled footprint of our house and told us that this week they will be connecting to city pipes, and then laying the basement and garage floors. From there it moves onward and upward as next week they begin framing! By the time we come to Utah at the end of April, beg. of May we will be able to walk through our entire house!!! I am more than excited. This weekend Ryan and Brooklyn will be in one of St. Louis' St. Patricks Day parades. There are two here; the city parade, and the Dogtown parade. Dogtown is the Irish sector, and they, remaining purist and VERY CATHOLIC (go IRISH!), only have their parade on St. Pats, whatever day that may be. After the parade we are going to suprise Ryan and Brooklyn by going to High School Musical on ice. I will have to post pictures Sat. night of the day's events.

Foundation Finished

Here are some more pictures of the house. They finished pouring the foundation yesterday, not bad for starting to dig a week ago. The last picture is the view from the front of our house, the amazing mountain.
